Here’s a quick look at Jerry Lane’s strike zone last night – first for David Purcey:

And then his Tigers counterpart on the mound:

Kind of a tight zone all around, and in the bottom half of the zone you could make the argument that Jackson got a couple of minor gifts and Purcey a minor steal. Pretty good all around, though – not one call clearly blown.

  1. It looked like Jackson was getting some good calls, and Purcey was getting squeezed, but I guess not. That 3-2 pitch Camp threw that was called a ball was complete bullshit though. He missed his target by a foot, but come on.

  2. huh, thanks, I could have sworn there were a few more low inside strikes stolen from Purcey.

Camp had at least one if not two stolen from him as well.

  3. Pitch f/x calls the 2-2 pitch COMPLETE and utter bullshit. The 3-2 one was right at the belt so it would typically be a strike, but it shows it just outside the textbook zone.

  4. There were a handful that pitch f/x just missed, they could have been snuck in there. Camp was getting squeezed bigtime (3-4 inches) towards the bottom of the zone.
