The Jays haven’t exactly been ripping the ball at home this year (.740 compared to a .699 OPS) and opposing teams have been walking and hitting doubles in the dome just as much as the Jays…Ah, great. I managed to suck all the life out of this rare Denbo quote from Buster Olney’s blog with that intro:

On the whole question of why it is that home teams are faring so well this year, I got this e-mail from Blue Jays hitting coach Gary Denbo: “I believe the biggest advantage home field offers is the chance to execute a routine to prepare for games. Our cage, our field with unlimited preparation time and our video system.”

Oh well, at least we know he’s still into video and preparation and all that stuff that was going to turn the team into the ’27 Yankees when he was signed in the offseason…
