Translation: Some desperate NL team asked about him at the GM meetings and we can finally get that bag of doughnuts because he’s still appealing at his price compared to other below-average starters, the pitching market is just stupid these days and he could probably win 15 games in the NL Central. There is absolutely zero chance the Jays pay him 3 million to be the mop up man/7th starter again, but of course J.P. can’t say that.
