Tony Larussa’s mug shot. Half a mickey in him and he’s STILL got that thousand-yard stare…

  1. I know this isn’t baseball releated, but the Nick Nolte is my vote for Geatest Mug Shot EVER:

Oh, and did everyone hear, John Thomson’s arm is OK! Yippie! Take that Josh Towers!

  2. I’d arrest him just for wearing that shirt…

I think I liked it better when Thomson’s arm gave him an excuse. Argh, now Chacin is getting rocked. I think this heated competition is resolving itself in entirely the wrong manner.

Scary question- if Zambrano has another strong start, is he our #3 pitcher???🙂 And is it Ohka right now?!?

  3. Ya, its scary….I didn’t think the chips would fall like the would.

Zambrano has been unhittable, and Chacin has been doing everything do pitch (and arrest) himself out of the #3 spot.

    I’d have to say.

    3. Okha
    4. Chacin
    5. Towers

With Zambrano on the VERY short leash to replace either Chacin or Towers. What did Chacin do today 5ER in 5IP? Not pretty.

  4. Everyone has one more start, and they are just starting to be real-length starts now so it could be huge. I really think that if Janssen has is strong against the Yankees (on TV!) tomorrow, he could make the team. For all this hype about Towers, his first full-length start was back to the same old- a tough call here, a grounder through the infield there, and he’s beating himself up on the bench after not making it through 5 because he can’t get himself out of it. Some combination of Janssen being great and Towers getting lit up could change their mind about wanting to get Casey some more starts in AAA.

Zambrano scares me…this is just way too fast for a guy with a history of arm trouble. I guess giving him 4 innings the other day was a test to see if he can be stretched out, but we could really use him in the bullpen until League is 100%, it’s safer, and he’s pretty good at it.

  5. Ohka & Zambrano:
You can pencil them in for most improved player.

Of course, if spring training has taught us anything, it has taught us nothing.

  6. On a side note – the Minnesota Twins announced their current Season Ticket promos will involve a “golden ticket” hidden somewhere in the city that will give the winner a ‘special season ticket package with all the bells and whistles’. New clues on its whereabouts will be released daily. Is it just me, or does it smell like this all over again:
