Poolside pitch f/x
I’ve resolved not to even acknowledge communication from the office/sick relatives/my parole officer while on vacation, but the red phone next to the pool started flashing because Mr. Tao wants me to prove him right again. These things are pretty much down to a press of a button, so here is Doc’s strike zone from last night:
So a few gifts of 4-5 inches off the outer half, but if you go back to this Hardball Times article, it will tell you that Laz Diaz has the 3rd largest strike zone on that side of the plate in the majors. Add to that the fact that pitchers with Cy Youngs on their mantle get another inch around the plate, and that maybe due to being a control rather than power guy, Roy Halladay got the best calls in the league of any starter last year, and Saturday was probably par for the course.
Now, back to contemplating why 14-year-olds in the states are encouraged to walk around in things that I would be arrested for having pictures of them in on my computer.
